Description
ISTT Geeveston mill small and knotty celery-top pine logs into strong, naturally durable and attractive timber for open or covered decks, ramps and verandahs - no chemicals! Ctp timber for decks / ramps can be used 'green' rough sawn or be air seasoned and dressed into a smooth/ribbed profile. New Product - finger jointed CTP in lengths to suit your deck / verandah can now be ordered. Water proof glue, no weaker sections and made to length for quicker / cheaper installation. We can also supply bearers, floor joists and square posts for these projects, see Posts & Beams section. Some of these timbers are available from milled stock while all can be milled to order from suitable logs. Celery-top pine deck / ramp / verandah timber is milled to be free of sapwood and heart cracks. An outdoor oil finish applied with a brush will reduce weathering and provide a very attractive honey-coloured surface. If no surface treatment is used celery-top pine will weather to a natural silver colour.
sizes & costs: decking timber - 'green rough sawn' 100 x 25 mm - $4.50 per lineal metre; air dry rough sawn 100 x 25 mm - $5.50 per lineal metre; kiln dried and dressed 90 x 21 mm $6.60 per lineal metre. Bearers for decks are often milled to 150 x 50 mm and joists to 100 x 50 mm - check recommended span tables.
