Fresh burls recovered from harvesting operations from 5 kg to 1000 kg in weight, to suit wood turning, free-form bowls or platters, slabbing for plaques, clock faces, box making etc.
Myrtle burls average weights are 15 kg - 50 kg while eucalypt burls are larger, some 50 - 100 kg and some very large pieces to 1000 kg.
Eucalypt burls contain either solid wood with attractive marbled burl figure or wood interspersed with small gum pockets.
Prices:
Myrtle burls $2.20 per kg,
Eucalypt burls less than 100 kg - $1.50 per kg, greater than 100 kg - $1.00 per kg.
