Log 3, Sassafras, black-heart. A bent log with dark black-heart wood at each end, spiral grain, sun cracks in the sapwood and some limbs / bumps. It should be milled in two short pieces for better timber recovery. No visible current or past activity by pin hole borers. Length 2.6 metres, butt diameter 40 cm, head diameter 36 cm, volume 0.29 cubic metres, weight about 310 kg.
