Log 17, Sassafras. A round head log from storage with many limbs and bumps, a few holes, sun cracks and spiral grain. It should be milled in two pieces for better timber recovery. Length 6.0 metres, butt diameter 37 cm, head diameter 28 cm, volume 0.48 cubic metres, weight about 525 kg. This log could milled to order at IST Geeveston on their Woodmizer bandsaw mill at $220 / hour; the timber can be collected or freighted to your address strapped and wrapped on a pallet.
