Log 31, Myrtle, downer

Log 31, Myrtle, downer.  This log was salvaged from an area harvested in the Florentine valley during the 1960's, from the regenerated forest which is now being harvested.  Naturally its sapwood has rotted away while rot and pin hole borer traces are likely to affect some heartwood.  It has obvious pin hole borer traces at the butt end, some rot, holes and burls but both ends appear fairly solid. Length 3.9 metres, butt diameter 55 cm, adjusted head diameter 50 cm, volume about 0.8 cubic metres, weight about 800 kg.  This log could milled to order at IST Geeveston on their Woodmizer bandsaw mill at $220 / hour; the timber can be collected or freighted to your address strapped and wrapped on a pallet.
