Log 8, Sassafras, small black-heart / plain. A straight log with a small black-heart at the butt end, plain at the head end with a split across the end, sun cracks in the sapwood, a few limbs and bumps. No visible current or past activity by pin hole borers. It could be milled in one or two pieces. Length 5.3 metres, butt diameter 36 cm, head diameter 29 cm, volume 0.42 cubic metres, weight about 450 kg.
